Duncan Hodgkinson has been cast in Panos Cosmatos' highly anticipated genre film 'Flesh of the Gods', which has begun shooting in the Canary Islands. The A24-backed vampire thriller also stars Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura.
Duncan Hodgkinson has joined the cast of Flesh of the Gods, the new film from director Panos Cosmatos, best known for the cult hit Mandy. Production is currently underway in the Canary Islands, Spain, with the second half of the shoot set to take place in Cologne, Germany.
A Star-Studded 80s Vampire Thriller
Set against the glittering backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles, the film follows Raoul and Alex — a glamorous married couple living in a luxury high-rise — who find themselves drawn into a seductive and dangerous underworld after encountering a mysterious figure known only as the Nameless and her hedonistic entourage. Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura lead the cast in those central roles.
Joining them is a strong ensemble that includes Esmé Creed-Miles, Roland Møller, Alba Baptista, David Schütter, Chidi Ajufo, and Tasnim Jamlaoui, alongside Duncan Hodgkinson.
A24 and an Acclaimed Creative Team
The screenplay was penned by Andrew Kevin Walker, the writer behind Se7en, based on a story he developed with Cosmatos. A24 holds domestic rights to the picture, which is being produced by Hyperobject Industries, Augenschein Filmproduktion, Nevermind Pictures, and XYZ Films. Financing comes from XYZ Films and YouRoc, in association with IPR.VC and Vixens.
This marks the fourth collaboration between Cosmatos and XYZ Films, a partnership that has also yielded the Miley Cyrus project Something Beautiful and the upcoming A24 development Nekrokosm. International sales are being handled by XYZ Films, with CAA Media Finance and WME Independent overseeing domestic dealmaking.
