Les Enfants du soleil — Grand Théâtre · Studio
Aline Fernandes, Sophie Mousel, Jules Werner, Eugénie Anselin, Céline Camara and Valery Plancke are in the cast of Les Enfants du soleil (Children of the Sun), the new in-house production of Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg. Associate artist Myriam Muller adapts and directs Maxim Gorky’s play, running at the Grand Théâtre Studio from 9 to 17 October 2026.
Gorky wrote it in a prison cell in 1905, as revolution swept Russia. At its heart is Protassov, an idealistic scientist so absorbed in improving mankind that he misses both the anger in the streets and the cholera spreading through the city. Myriam Muller moves the story into a present-day flatshare of artists: while they argue passionately about art and politics, the world is cracking open right outside their window. A sharp, funny play about the responsibility of people who think about the world without really looking at it.
